"Its amazing how many people give this bad ratings because they come apart...the main focus of this product is IMAGINATION my 4 1/2 yo son has an abundance of it and he was building cars and airplanes and rocket ships out of Linkin Logs and scotch tape to hold them together hes a boy and just loves to make things and take them apart this is the perfect toy for KIDS it is not made to stay together permanantly. I love it and so does he its quality Father and Son time. I just wish the French company that now owns this old american brand would get their acts together and make more Erector sets and promote the product better. I would also like to see the metal erector sets to come back again from when like I was a kid. Parents should not be so critical try to listen to your inner child and have fun with your child."

"Frustrating - The main problem with this toy is that the nuts and bolts are plastic and they don't stay tight. This was really frustrating for me as an adult and was impossible for my 5 year old. Also, for my 5 year old the instructions were too complicated, i.e. too many steps in one picture. I would venture a guess that the bolts not staying tight is a problem for all the "Easy" Erector sets."

"not worth the money - I bought this toy for my almost 4 year old son. I don't expect him to be able to use it, however I expect that if you build something that the screws don't loosen up after touching it again. I would not recommend buying it"

"Father son bonding time at its best - I don't know if my son or my husband had more fun putting this toy together. It was a fifth birthday present from a friend, and is probably more age appropriate for a six to eight year old on their own. BUT with Dad (or Mom's) help it was a great learning toy, just took a little longer. After making a car, they realized you have to take apart your first creation to make most of the others, because there aren't a lot of duplicate pieces. My son loved using his imagination to make other things (sure they don't look like a car or a plane, but he is learning all the same). I would highly recommend this toy for five and up with adult help."

"also awesome Great building toy!! 5-6 yr olds need help of older sibling or parent (at least the first time). 7-8 yr olds love it. Can mix and match with other sets to create many new vehicles, not to mention good instructions to make toys listed on the box. Storage boxes actually hold all the pieces after unpacking!"

"Not worth the money regardless of the price - As others have said, I was very disappointed with this toy. We bought it for our 4yo son for Christmas. The pieces don't stay together for much if any play which makes all the time you spend building such a frustration. It even falls apart as you build due to the torque you put on already constructed pieces when you add other parts. As cool as it looks, and as fun as we THOUGHT it would be, this is a big disappointment. We'll wait until our son is older, see if the metal sets are still available and if so, try those. We will not buy another plastic Erector set."

"Pieces don't stay together - It would be a great toy if the pieces stayed together. Like previous comments, many of the screws can't be tightened down, so they slip out quickly and rub against the wheels and stop the motorized movements. Some of the pieces also have too much on the screw to secure the plastic bolt, and since they can't be tightened down, they break apart in your hands. Cheap product overall. But our son enjoyed the few ones that stayed together for a few runs around the family room."

"junk - The plastic screws slip on plastic. They dont hold. The item begins falling apart as you are assembling it. Once assembled the item is not playable...loosens up and falls apart in minutes. As another person mentioned...the wheels completly fall of the spokes that designed to hold them. The best lesson I tought my 5 year old, since he would have a fit why his robot is falling apart...this product is junk, son! :)"

"great toy if they stay together - I bought this toy for my son which almost 4 YO. He is too young to figuring it out yet. But he starting to get how to read the manual and what pieces I would need to put together. (yes, I'm the one doing all the works.) It's very nice toy and I hope my son will grown into it. However playing is hard since pieces are not well stick together (even if I tighten them as hard as I could. After few moves, they're starting to loosen up.) The wheels are the most disappoint part. They are loose and useless. They keep falling off the pivots everytime you pick the toy up. So my son can't play with it much. Once I put together a car or robot, he can move it, turn it a little, but can't move it without loosing wheels. No fun with that. (you know how rough the boys play)"

"Very disappointed - I was very excited about getting this toy for my son because I had grown up with toys made by this same brand (which at that time was made of metal). These constructions are not only difficult to put together, they don't stay together! Maybe it is because the pieces are plastic? I definately will not purchase this product again or recommend it to anyone."

"my 4-year-old's 1st erector set - my son is four and love's to build. we started with wood blocks, then legos and this was his first erector set. the erector set was clearly more intricate and challenging in terms of patience. i give the product, packaging and instructions relatively high marks and we'll see how long the product holds my son's interest."

"Great fun for kid and parent! - I purchased this for my 8 year old grandson, who immediately took it out of the package and started looking at the directions and pictures to see what could be created. He put together his first selection with very little instruction just by looking at the picture. Then he was able to play with the item he made. Great toy, durable and had just the right amount of difficulty not to be boring."
